Background
Marie-Gabrielle Bertran holds a Master’s degree in the History of Philosophy from the University of Paris IV – Sorbonne and a PhD in Geography, with a major in Geopolitics. She is currently doing a post-doctorate at CIENS and is a research associate at the IFG-Lab (Université Paris 8) and the Geopolitics of the Datasphere project (GEODE). She wrote her dissertation on the policies implemented by the Russian state to promote digital sovereignty and their consequences for the practices of Russian developers and the country’s digital market. Her research at CIENS focuses on the continuum between cybersecurity and cyberdefence through the prism of Russia’s cyber manoeuvres.
