Laboratoire de Recherche Conventionné (LRC) Yves Rocard

Yves Rocard Collaborative Research Laboratory (LRC) Yves Rocard fosters collaboration between teams from the CEA’s Analysis, Surveillance and Environment Department (Département Analyse, Surveillance, Environnement du CEA) (Direction des Applications Militaires, CEA/DAM) and the ENS Geosciences Department Géosciences de l’ENS on a wide range of topics in geophysics, hydrogeology, geochemistry, atmospheric dynamics and atmospheric transport.

This ‘laboratory outside the walls’ is a framework for numerous partnerships. It brings together teams from the ENS and the CEA to work on scientific subjects of common interest, combining fundamental and applied research. In particular, it supports the development of observation and data processing techniques, as well as modelling methods for numerous earth processes: seismic and asismic deformation of the earth’s crust, the origin and propagation of tsunamis, fluid-rock transfers and interactions, atmospheric dynamics, infrasound propagation, etc.

The Yves Rocard LRC is a flexible, responsive structure that welcomes a large number of interns, PhD students and post-docs.
A Call for Projects is issued every year at the beginning of the year. Each project must involve at least one ENS researcher and one CEA researcher.
