Career
Paul Zajac, Director of Strategic Affairs at the French Atomic Energy and Renewable Energies Commission, is a diplomat, a former student of the École normale supérieure and a graduate of the Institut d’études politiques de Paris.
Between 2020 and 2024, Paul Zajac was Deputy Director for Strategic Affairs and Cybersecurity at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. In this role, he was responsible for monitoring France’s Common Security and Defence Policy policy within NATO and the EU.
From 2018 to 2020, he was Political Counsellor at the French Embassy in the United States. His mission is to analyse the evolution of the American political landscape.
From 2014 to 2017, Paul Zajac was deputy director of the Centre d’analyse, de prévision et de stratégie (CAPS) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in charge of foresight, anticipation and strategy.
Between 2010 and 2013, Paul Zajac was posted to Berlin as First Secretary at the French Embassy in Germany, responsible for Franco-German security and defence cooperation and monitoring Germany’s security and defence policy.
He began his career in 2007 in the Strategic Affairs, Security and Disarmament Directorate of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
