Career

Pierre Ramond is a doctoral researcher at CIENS, and is doing a thesis at the doctoral school of the École normale supérieure on the coordination of European diplomacy during the Iranian nuclear negotiations, from 2003 to the present day.

After studying literature in preparatory classes, he entered the École normale supérieure on the rue d’Ulm, where he studied philosophy, political science, law and Persian at Paris I, EHESS, Paris-Nanterre and INALCO from 2015 to 2020. His research, which initially focused on contemporary Iran, is now concentrating on political and institutional developments in European foreign policy.

Alongside his research, Pierre Ramond has been working since its creation in 2017 with the Groupe d’études géopolitiques, an association based at the Ecole normale supérieure which publishes the journal le Grand Continent, for which he is responsible for the weekly events, ‘les Mardis’, as well as the journal’s publications in connection with his research.

Lastly, Pierre Ramond has taught at the Ecole normale supérieure (Theories and political sociology of international relations, Introduction to the European Union through field research), at the Université Paris Dauphine (The construction of the State), and at Sciences Po Paris (World Space).
